We can never run away from stress. It is the part of our life. Today's life is
full of tension, stress and anxiety. It is believed that slight stress sometimes
can prove to be good. This is because if you are under stress you tend to be
sharp and also can achieve your goal by giving really good performances. But
stress for a very long time can prove to be dangerous for anyone. It puts a bad
effect on your body and also chunks the abilities of the body to recover,
reduces resistance power to fight diseases etc.
Stress is very dangerous and also leads to many diseases and also mental
disorders. Stress can lead to various diseases like obesity, chronic
disease, deteriorating relationships, depression, insomnia, and more. Obesity
leads to high blood pressure, heart diseases, stroke and many life threatening
diseases. All these and many other diseases are the result of stress and
anxiety. We can minimize our stress and also control it in the following way.
- To control stress you must first know the cause of it. You should know what
makes you stressed? You can keep a record of the things that stresses you and do
not avoid them. Try to solve the problems that are easy to solve first. Try to
solve the problem as it comes before you and do not stop till the last moment.
- Try to keep you self calm. Take a break from your work for a moment and try to
relax and settle down. You can talk to any friend or also can just sit for a
while and relax.
Remember that the bad period of life do not last forever. Tell yourself that if
good time passed away then even bad days will go and you would soon see the sun
shining again. Try to see the positive side of every thing. Try to keep cool at
times of tension and anxiety.
- Try to understand yourself and know what is making you stressed. If it’s your
job then try to quit it and search for a better one. You can also go for a
vacation for a week or so. This will help you to settle down.
- You can also try the relaxation response which is an opposite response to
stress response. This will help you. Do not know how to do it? It’s very simple
process; you just have to repeat a word or any thing you like to repeat. Then do
not allow any thoughts enter your mind and you will feel better. You can do it
twice a day just for 15 to 20 minutes. Practice this daily and you will
recognize a change in yourself.
The main cause of stress is our attitude towards a particular thing. So the best
way to avoid stress is to change your attitude and think positive always.
